RuPaul Hen Party Dance Class Blackpool
A RuPaul hen party dance class in Blackpool, run by a choreographer who cares far more about how you walk into a room than how high you can kick. The strut comes first, the lip-sync second, the bride's runway last — £185 plus the venue for ninety minutes, the whole group, or £160 plus the venue for an hour.

Why this one lands in Blackpool
Attitude is the only prerequisite.
Blackpool was putting sequins on a stage long before television discovered drag, so a RuPaul-inspired routine lands here the way a chant lands at a home ground. It is the theme groups pick when they want attitude rather than steps, and it is one of the loudest on our hen party dance class list. The music does half the job: big, bratty tracks with a beat you can walk to in a straight line. Nobody is asked to be a dancer here. You are asked to come into a room as though the room has been waiting for you, which most hens manage inside four minutes and one cheer from the back row.
The walk gets taught first. Posture, a hand that means something, a turn that lands on the beat — broken into short pieces and looped until the shy end of the group stops apologising for itself. Then comes a lip-sync stretch, where the words matter more than the feet, and a group formation so the whole party arrives somewhere at the same time. Sunglasses, heels, boas and a wig for the bride improve the photographs enormously, and every one of them comes from your side of the door: we supply no costumes, props or shoes, and trainers are honestly the better call for the dancing. Groups who fancy the same confidence with more tease go for the Burlesque class; groups who want the sharper music-video version take the Commercial class.
The last stretch belongs to the bride: a runway down the middle of the room with everyone else working as her back-line, sized to how much of a spotlight she genuinely wants. Some want the full catwalk, some want row two, and both are fine. It makes a strong dance hen party centrepiece for a weekend that is otherwise cocktails and a wander along the Promenade. If anyone catches the bug on the way out, our weekly dance classes run in the town centre and take absolute beginners every week.
What the money covers
What £185 plus the venue buys the whole group.
Nine groups in ten go for the longer session here, because the strut and the lip-sync both want time to settle. Room hire is the one extra and it is quoted before you commit — or there is no extra at all when we come to your hotel. Book it as a RuPaul dance class hen party or a Blackpool RuPaul dance hen party; either way nobody is charged per head.

The usual shape of it
Ninety minutes of runway.
The warm-up is a walking lesson wearing a disguise, so the room is moving in time before anyone works out whether they are nervous. From there the choreographer stacks short phrases — a strut, a stop, a turn, a pose — and repeats each until the back of the room has it as solidly as the front. The lip-sync section usually arrives about halfway, and it is where the quiet ones stop being quiet.
After that everything gets stitched into one run, with the bride's runway saved for last and the group forming her back-line either side. Ninety minutes leaves room to do the whole thing twice, once for the group and once for the phones, plus a proper posed finish at the end. How the time actually splits is worked out in the room on the day; take this as the usual pattern rather than a promised running order.
Afterwards
What the group said on the way out.
Sixteen of us and four had sworn blind they would sit and watch. By the runway bit all four were on it. The RuPaul walk is now how my sister enters every room.
Booked the RuPaul class as a joke. Easily the best ninety minutes of the whole weekend.
Our bride is genuinely shy and we were nervous for her. She got a runway she could do in four steps and she adored it — nobody was pushed into anything they didn't fancy.
Still lip-syncing in the kitchen. Send help.
Before you ask
RuPaul, answered.
IWhat actually happens in a RuPaul hen do dance class?
Three chunks, roughly: the walk, a lip-sync stretch and a group finale with a runway for the bride. It is drag-inspired performance rather than a technical dance lesson, so posture, timing and cheek carry it. We have no affiliation with the show — the theme is our own take on it.
IIDo we need drag costumes for the RuPaul class?
Bring them if you want them on camera, but nothing is required. We don't supply costumes, props, wigs or shoes, so anything themed comes from your group, and plenty of parties turn up in leggings and get exactly the same session. Trainers beat heels for the actual dancing every time.
IIIIs the RuPaul routine hard if nobody in the group dances?
No — it is one of the more forgiving themes we teach because the walk is the backbone and everyone already knows how to walk. Each phrase is short and repeated until it sticks, and the choreographer levels it up or down depending on who is in front of her.
IVCan we choose the songs for our RuPaul class?
Tell us what the group loves and it gets factored in, especially anything the bride has claimed as hers. There is no fixed setlist on this page or any other; the choreographer settles the music with your group and shapes the routine on the day.
VWill a RuPaul dance hen party work for a mixed-age group?
It usually works better with a wide age range, not worse. The mums and aunties tend to commit hardest once the strut starts, and the moves are low-impact enough that nobody is left out. Anyone who would rather clap along from a chair is welcome to.
VIWhich room in Blackpool will the RuPaul class be in?
Hornby Road, FY1 4RD — the function room we hire in Blackpool town centre, a few minutes on foot from the Winter Gardens and the Promenade, with the details sent over once the date is held. Groups whose hotel or apartment has a floor that can be cleared often keep us at their own base instead, and we travel along the front and out into the Fylde coast to do that.
